“Sidedoor” A Podcast from the Smithsonian

During the winter of my senior year, I worked as an editorial reporter for Smithsonian Magazine. On the side, I supported the editing and production at Sidedoor. Currently, the podcast has received more than 3.5 million listens and remains in the top 1% of all podcasts in terms of listenership per episode.

While at Sidedoor, I worked alongside host Lizzie Peabody, contributed to script edits, and interviewed subjects around Washington, DC. I also pitched a multimedia collaboration with smithsonianmag.com and Sidedoor (read the published story here), which highlighted the work of Lena Richard, a Black chef who broke barriers in the Jim Crow South.
